Every year since 2008, November 11 is celebrated as education day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.He was a great freedom fighter, eminent educationist and the first education minister (11 November 1888 – 22 February 1958) He is known for making several significant contributions in the field of education. Azad during his tenure in the Education Ministry promoted research in eastern learning and literature and set up the three academies to develop the fine arts. He also started the work on the compilation of technical terms in Hindi on a large scale.

A special assembly was conducted to celebrate on 16th November, 2021.The assembly commenced with special prayers, videos emphasizing importance of education to all, thoughts of great thinkers and ended with Pledge to be a responsible citizen of India and the world, to spread education in every sphere and not permit anyone to be deprived from it.
