On 8th September, 2021 the feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary was celebrated with great joy in our heart. The day was also observed as Girl child. A special virtual assembly was conducted in Std III to Std XII with the theme, “A girl child is a gift from God, to be loved and cherished.”

In the prayer service the Google slides depicted the need to maintain-Gender equality for a healthy society, also included a beautiful hymn dedicated to Mother Mary. The video highlighted the fight for the rights of a girl child and how to empower them was viewed. Poster making and collage making activity for both the events were allotted class wise.

God sends every child into the world as a part of His loving plan. Every family should wholeheartedly welcome every new-born child with joy, love and hope. Every person is precious and created in the image and likeness of God. Yet, there are many who treat the girl child as an unwelcome guest. We are well aware of the ill-treatment and discrimination against the girl-child is wide-spread.

Let us take an oath that we shall protect and help the girl children in their overall development. Let us ask Mary-The greatest girl child ever born, to help all to understand the value and beauty of every girl, and to guide us in nurturing and educating every girl child in the spirit of equality, justice and love.
